Case Studies

The following are real case studies or transactions made by our clients. The client's names have been changed to protect their confidentiality.

Case Study One - Irish Importer #1
John does not have Internet access but another Transfermate client suggested he contact Transfermate after John had commented on the poor rates his provider was offering.

John called the Transfermate Irish office at 01 635 3700 and asked how we could save him money making a payment of £4500 to the UK. We quoted a rate of 1.46 which meant he would need to pay 6570 Euro. John's existing provider offered him a rate of 1.482 - sterling cost 6669 Euro before the fee. John saved approximately €100 on this small transaction. With cheaper transfer fees and no commissions charged the real saving was approx €120.

Case Study Two - Peter and Jenny move to Ireland from the UK
Peter and Jenny, having just moved to Ireland, were awaiting the proceeds from the sale of their house in the UK - about £300,000. Peter heard about Transfermate through a friend. They decided to use Transfermate and instructed their solicitor in the UK to pay the GBP directly to the Transfermate account. Once Transfermate sighted the funds, we notified Peter and Jenny that their funds had arrived and offered them an exchange rate of 1.47. Peter checked around and our rate was the best he could find with the next best rate being 1.458. The difference in Euro proceeds between the Transfermate rate and the next best provider was €3600.

Once the rate was agreed the Euro were paid into Peter and Jenny's Irish bank account.

Case Study Three – UK Exporter #2
Mary exports heavy machinery parts to clients around the world. The company has eight regular clients and makes about six currency payments per month.

Mary now advises her clients to contact Transfermate to make payment as Transfermate do not deduct receiving fees and are can generally guarantee payment to the client in 1-2 days. Not only does Mary receive payment faster, her client saves money on their international payment.

When the funds arrive in the Transfermate account, Transfermate then sends Mary an email to notify her that payment has been lodged into her account.
