Phone our currency desk.
Click here to see your local office. Alternatively email
funds@transfermate.com to confirm that you have made a transfer.
How long does a transfer take?
Once your funds have cleared in our Client account, the converted funds will be credited to your nominated overseas account in no longer than 2 working days.
Please remember that transfers must be uploaded by 12pm to be processed on the same day!
What ID do we require from you?
It is our legal and compliant obligation in terms of current anti-money laundering legislation to collect certified identification for each new client that is transferring over €13,000. This is generally in the form of a copy of your passport. Should your passport not be available for whatever reason, we require 2 equivalent forms of certified identification (one needs to be photographic) such as a driver’s licence and debit/credit card.
If you plan on loading transfers online using your debit card, we would require copies of your Bank statements and a photocopy of each debit card registered on our system before we process your transfer.
Passports must be signed and dated with the words "True copy of the original" (or similar) and can be certified by the following people: accountant, lawyer or your bank manager, a teacher, doctor or person of similar status or other authorised person. The person certifying the passport should be contactable so please write their contact details on the copy of the passport. This information needs to be posted back to us and cannot be faxed or emailed. TransferMate may conduct additional security checks on clients at our discretion.
What is Money Laundering?
Money laundering is the process by which criminally obtained money or other assets are exchanged for "clean" money with no obvious link to its criminal origin.
What are the requirements of a registered Money Service Business (MSB)?
The law requires us to monitor any unusual or suspicious transactions of any size taking place where we have reason to believe the money is derived from illegal activity. Any suspicious transactions will be reported.
The law also requires us to keep full records of all transactions, together with copies of identification provided. We are unable to process any transaction where this information is withheld. Proof of address and proof of funds may be required in certain cases – please see KYC guidelines.
Why do I have to deposit funds into a Client account?
We require cleared funds to be received into our bank account before we can process your money transfer. Please note this account has been designated a client account with our bankers, meaning it can only hold client money. Please see the Account Details tab for the relevant account specific to your transfer destination.
Which countries can I send funds between?
You can wire money to most destinations in the world using TransferMate.
How is the exchange rate determined? Why is it better than the banks rate?
The exchange rates we offer fall in between the Inter-bank rate (the truest exchange rate) and the rate offered by high street banks and Bureau de Changes, thus under-cutting the banks and passing that saving on to you in the form of great rates.
Our site uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL), 128 bit encryption to protect your transaction details. 128 bit encryption is the latest and strongest data encryption techniques commercially available for securing information between you, our client and our website.
SSL works by encrypting/scrambling data from our website to your computer. The data is encrypted on our web server and can only be decrypted/unscrambled by the person with the correct decrypt/unscramble key.
You can verify our sites use of SSL in two places, by the user of "s" in https in the address bar of the site and by the padlock in your status bar at the bottom of your web browser.
