What is the Wages Protection System (WPS)?
The Wages Protection System is an electronic salary transfer system introduced by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation. It was designed to protect workers’ rights and promote timely, secure salary payments for all private sector employees.
Under this system, employers are legally required to register employees and ensure their salaries are paid accurately and on time.
Why it matters
WPS provides greater transparency in employer-employee transactions and holds companies accountable for accurate and timely payments.
As it is a legal requirement, non-compliance can lead to penalties, fines, and restrictions on work permits. It may also impact a company’s reputation when attracting new talent.

To process WPS Payments on your behalf, the following information, in addition to the employee account details, will also be required:
- Employee ID (Internal)
- Employee Name
- Salary
- Variable Pay
- MOL ID (Ministry of Labor ID)
- Salary Month and Year
- From Date
- To Date
- Leave
